Scandinavian retro pottery candle holder of girl with braids. This rare tea light candle holder has a lovely round pierced ‘apron’ body designed to let through the light, with easy access at the back. The glaze is a putty colour, with generous green dots, hair is in plaits and provides a strong anchor for the head, the girls face is unglazed, with brown glazed braids. When I had a candle alight in it, the base remains cool and is safe to place on a wooden surface, it also has a reinforced holder space for the candle to sit in. Made in the 1970s.
Condition - excellent vintage, slight glaze crack line at the back of the neck (see photo) from the head being attached to the body during the manufacturing process. No chips or other cracks.
